Celebrating 15 Years of Excellence
As we celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Miami International Piano Festival, I reflect on the realization of a project born from a desire to present, guide and support those artists who have the power to inspire us and ignite our spirit & our imagination.
“The artist’s destiny is a sad and great one. A sacred predestination marks him at birth. It is not he who chooses his profession – it is his profession that chooses him.”
Franz Liszt
The above quote by Liszt illustrates the reason why Patrons of Exceptional Artists was created. An artist needs to feel supported in order to create. An artist leads a lonely life and in order to freely express his art, needs the encouragement and support from those
who understand the true nature of an artist.
During the past 15 years we are proud to have brought more than 50 of the most thrilling
artists in the world – each possessing such a high level of musicianship and individuality
that just the experience of having heard them will forever be imprinted in our memory. We continue to expand our presence in South Florida with three distinct concerts series: The Master Series, the Aventura Cultural Series and the Discovery Series. Through these programs the Festival offers audiences an opportunity to discover new and exciting artists and to watch their development and growth. We continue to give each artist the opportunity to return and express themselves through unique and exciting programs and projects.
Perhaps our greatest accomplishment has been the many important careers that have been launched by the Festival as a result of our special projects. Through the recordings of our Marathon Series, which concentrates on composers close to the hearts of the
artists, we are building a reference library for the new generation of pianists and piano enthusiasts.
Our 15 year journey has been rewarding, exciting and difficult at the same time. The path we travel on is very challenging and there is so much more we need to do. If I had three wishes on this anniversary they would be first to inspire more people to attend our unforgettable
concerts and build a bigger audience, second to continue supporting
those artists deserving of a great career, and third to find the necessary financial support to continue to make our mission possible and to expand it even further.
Thank you all for making these past 15 years a rich and rewarding experience for the artists and the community. Join us in the celebration this year and let’s continue building one of the most important Piano Festivals in the world. Please subscribe to our entire Festival; your lives will be forever enriched!!
Sincerely,
Giselle Brodsky,
Artistic Director & Founder
