Classical-Jazz Connections:  How are Chopin and Duke Ellington alike? Which Baroque composer was a closet gospel pianist? How do musicians improvise? This musically
illustrated lecture pierces the veil that often separates the worlds of  classical music and jazz, with examples ranging from Bach, Scarlatti, Messiaen and Scriabin to Harold Arlen, Jerome Kern and Leonard Bernstein.

Duo Recital with an after concert conversation with Emanuele Arciuli and Frederic Rzweski.  The Festival is pleased to once again present the outstanding Italian pianist Emanuele Arciuli known as an eminent interpreter of contemporary classical piano music.  For this special performance, Arciuli will be joined by American composer, Frederic Rzewski, now resident in Belgium, of mostly chamber, vocal and piano works that have been performed throughout the world; he is also active as a pianist.
