Dear Friends and Supporters: 

As we welcome a new and exciting season, we all need to reflect on the transformative experiences we all endured during the pandemic these past two years. The challenges brought by this crisis forced us to reevaluate the trajectory of our organization and the purpose of our mission, creating alternative opportunities for our wonderful artists, mentors, and the emerging artists of this generation.

The Miami International Piano Festival concluded its 2021-22 season triumphantly. After the Grand Opening, when we presented a spectacular concerto evening featuring THREE great artists, the tone was set for what was to come: 12 brilliant performances at both the Aventura Arts and Cultural Center and the Wolfsonian Museum in Miami Beach.

Inspired by that triumphant beginning, the 2022-2023 season will once again takeoff with “a true musical celebration” of three beloved concertos featuring marvelous pianists Francesco Libetta (Italy), Nikolay Khozyainov (Russia), and Stephen Beus (USA). The Festival Orchestra will be conducted by the dynamic and exciting Venezuela-born and People’s Artist of Ukraine recipient Hobart Earle, Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra. This performance will be followed by 12 concerts: six world-class pianists at the Aventura Arts and Cultural Center, and six extraordinary artists making their debut at the Wolfsonian Museum in Miami Beach. Our international talent will captivate classical music lovers throughout the Southeastern coast of Florida.

Two recent major accomplishments have given our organization international prominence: The summer festival at Villa Medici Giulini that took place in the beautiful region of Briosco, Italy, and the creation of a state-of-the-art Virtual Platform. They have opened unique opportunities for our students, artists, audience, indeed for all classical music lovers.

The platform’s Audiovisual Archive presents a documentary embracing every aspect of our organization’s twenty-four-year trajectory. As it grows, this Virtual Platform will also include the much awaited Virtual Concert Hall, where performances of our great artists will not only be available to our community, but also worldwide, giving our artists well-deserved exposure, enhancing and amplifying their careers in ways they never imagined.

We are thankful for the support and generosity of our donors and cultural organizations, in particular the Florida Department of State Division of Arts and Culture, Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Miami Beach and Funding Arts Broward (FAB). Their generous support allows us to transform our ideas into a wonderful reality.

As we enter this season, I feel excited and optimistic. I am convinced that this coming season will be incredibly inspiring for all of us.
