Performing worldwide from a vast repertoire, Kemal Gekic presents fascinating, uncompromising and ever-changing interpretations , always generating frenzied audience enthusiasm. As a recording artist, Kemal Gekic has won accolades in Europe, America and Japan for insightful, original views of the music. His outstanding Rossini-Liszt transcriptions (Naxos) won “The Rosette” of The Penguin Guide for Music, while his recording of Liszt’s Transcendental Etudes (JVC) is generally considered to be the best recording of a set in history. Born is Split, Croatia, Kemal Gekic got his early training from Prof. Lorenza Baturina. He graduated the class of Prof.Jokuthon Mihailovic at the Art Academy of Novi Sad and was immediately given a faculty appointment by the piano department which he eventually directed until 1999. Since 1999 he has been Artist in Residence at the Florida International University in Miami, Florida.
In 1999 he moved to Miami, Florida to take up his present post as Artist in Residence at the Florida International University after making a historical debut at the Miami International Piano Festival. Mr Gekic is one of the most important pillar of this Festival having graced its stage in numerous occasions.
He is currently also a visiting professor at the Musashino Academy of Music in Tokyo and a guest lecturer at numerous universities and academies throughout the world. He has served as a juror on numerous piano competitions. Programs on his life and his performances have been broadcast by RAI Italy, TV Portugal, TV Yugoslavia, NHK Japan, POLTEL Poland, RTV Lower Saxony West Germany, RTV USSR, Intervision, CBC and PBS.
Mr. Gekic performs regularly in the United States, South America, Europe and Asia and most recently he has appeared as a soloist with the Royal Philharmonic, Warsaw Symphony and NHK Symphony Orchestra in Japan and performed several recitals in different countries.Kemal Gekic is actively involved with Patrons of Exceptional Artists and is a representative of the Miami International Piano Festival worldwide.
Kristina Miller, Russian-German pianist, was born in 1986 in Moscow into a musical family. Her outstanding talent gave her the first opportunity to perform W.A.Mozart Concerto Nr. 23 with orchestra at the early age of eight.
Six years later, Prof. A.E. Rubina invited her to study in a special music school for talented children in St.Petersburg, Russia. Having already won the first prize in the Berlin International Piano competition(1999) and second prize in the St.Petersburg International piano competition(2000), the Russian Ministry of Culture marked her exceptional achievements as a pianist by awarding her its prize for artistic development. Since the age of twelve, Kristina Miller played concerts in Europe, the United States, Australia and South America and was invited every year to appear as a soloist with orchestras, such as the Recreation Grosses Orchester Graz, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of Americas, Israel Camerata Jerusalem, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfonica do Teatro Nacional Claudio Santoro, Neue Philharmonie München, the Capella State Symphony Orchestra St.Petersburg, the Rostow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orquestra Sinfonica da USP, Berliner Camerata, the Uljanowsk Symphony Orchestra and others. She worked with Conductors including Ravil Martinov, Carlos Miguel Prieto, Claudio Cohen, Sergey Krylov, Patrick Hahn, Vladislav Chernushenko, Uri Segal, Roberto Tibiricá, Osvaldo Ferreira, Fuad Ibrahimov, Helder Trefzger, Hobart Earle, Andreas Stoehr and others.
After graduating at the special music school in 2004 she became a student at the St.Petersburg State Conservatory. During this time Kristina Miller had an opportunity to perform in concert halls such as the Philarmonic Hall, the Capella Hall and the big A. Glasunov Hall of Conservatory in St.Petersburg.
In 2006 she won the Steinway Piano Award of the Munich Steinway House and entered the Munich Music University to continue her studies with the well-known pianist Prof. Gerhard Oppitz.
As a chamber musician, Kristina Miller collaborated with artists including Daniel Müller-Schott, Sergey Krylov, David Aaron Carpenter, Jan Volger, Pierre Amoyal, Danjulo Ishizaka and others.
Besides making various recordings for the Bavarian Radio, her first CD was released in 2008 for the Naxos Label, which Kristina recorded with Nicolas Koeckert. It received great reviews and was repeatedly played at the Bavarian Radio and BBC Radio stations.
In 2012 Kristina Miller finished her Studies at the Munich University of Music with Prof. Gerhard Oppitz, where she received her Master of Music degree with Distinction.
In 2015 she received her second Master Degree at the Conservatory Wien University with Prof.Dr. Johannes Kropfitsch.
In 2017-2023 Kristina had her debuts in Berliner Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Sala Sao Paulo, Stefaniensaal Graz, Victoria Hall Geneve, Big Philharmonic Hall Vilnius, Herkulessaal München, Kurhaus Wiesbaden, The Krzysztof Pendereki European Center of Music and others.
