Born in Russia and raised in Mexico from the age of three, Vladimir Petrov is one of the leading pianists of his generation. Winner of the Audience Prize and a laureate at the 63rd Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition (Italy, 2021), he has earned international recognition for his exceptional virtuosity, artistic maturity, and expressive depth. Critics have described him as “one of the best pianists of his generation,” praising his rare musicality and distinctive artistic voice.

Petrov has won first prizes at numerous prestigious international competitions, including the Lotar Shevchenko International Piano Competition (Russia), Ciudad de Vigo International Piano Competition (Spain), José Jacinto Cuevas–Yamaha International Piano Competition (Mexico), NTD International Piano Competition (New York), and the Neapolitan Masters Competition (Italy).

His concert career has taken him throughout Europe, Asia, North and South America, appearing in some of the world's most renowned venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, the Great Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory, the Bolshoi Theatre, the Mariinsky Theatre, Salle Cortot in Paris, and Salle Frank Martin in Geneva. He has performed with major orchestras under conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Lanfranco Marceletti, Tito Muñoz, Pavel Gerstein, and Gleb Skvortsov, and has collaborated with distinguished violinists Kristóf Baráti and Graf Mourzha.

A graduate with highest honors of the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, where he studied with Valery Piassetsky and Elisso Virsaladze, Petrov was named the Conservatory's Top Graduate Student of the Year in 2020. He continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar with Grigory Gruzman and is currently based in New York, pursuing postgraduate studies at the Manhattan School of Music under the guidance of Horacio Gutiérrez, while maintaining an active international concert career.
